On Saturday evening, May 11th, Transervice employees Corey Skiles (Transportation Manager) and Al Warren (Dock Coordinator) began smelling a strong smell of smoke emanating through the office. Upon investigation, the two discovered flames coming from a restroom light fixture. Having recently completed Transervice fire safety courses, the two employees were able to put their newly acquired knowledge to the ultimate test and extinguished the flames quickly- before any major damage was done to the office.

After assessing the situation, local firemen informed the employees that had it not been for their quick response, this could have been a major disaster. After all, our Seattle Times warehouse contains approximately 1400 rolls of highly flammable newspaper!
